Favourite Games - Uncharted Video Game Series

My favourite game's of all time is the, "Uncharted" series. These games are third-person action adventure games, that have a great storyline which continues through all games. The games were developed by Naughty Dog Studios and published on the Sony PlayStation. The franchise has seen games releases on multiple different platforms including the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 4.

Although the first three games, "Drakes Fortune", "Among Thieves", and "Drakes Deception" was originally released on the PlayStation 3, Naughty Dog later released a remastered version of all three games on a single disk for the PlayStation 4 in 2015. These games all follow the same storyline but finally end with their 2016 release, "Uncharted: A Thief's End". The franchise has also seen other releases, such as, "Golden Abyss" and "The Lost Legacy". These games follow a separate storyline but are just as enjoyable as the others in my opinion.

The main protagonist Nathan Drake, is a charismatic adventurer who travels all over the world in search of the hidden relics and lost cities. I like the characters personality because he is strong-willed and often makes jokes, which kept me entertained while playing through the games.

I have played all these games multiple times on all platforms and have enjoyed every minute of it. If your looking for a game that has a great storyline, interesting characters and spectacular gameplay look no further! This game has the perfect balance of exploration, gunplay, and platforming that of which never gets boring. For the better experience, I would recommend playing the remastered games on the PlayStation 4. The remastered version has improved on graphics and a higher frame rate for a smoother gaming experience.

Overall my favourite game in the franchise would have to be, "Uncharted: A Thief's End". It was a perfect ending to the story, which rounds up all the games storylines into one. When I completed the game, it left me wanting to play more. This game series is truly one for the history books, as each game has won multiple awards.

Game Brainstorm

Game Brainstorm  I got my first game idea after looking at endless runner games such as "Temple Run", "Subway Surfers", "Sonic Dash" and "Super Mario Run". I noticed a lot of these games in this genre are on Android and iOS devices. This got me thinking about creating a similar game for PC. The first of these games to become popular was "Temple Run" back in 2011. This game made the genre popular on mobile devices which later inspired the other endless runner games I mentioned. Endless running games have very simple controls, such as jumping over and dodging oncoming obstacles. A player's score is generally determined by how far they travel without hitting any obstacles. The games have simplistic controls but are difficult because you cannot stop the forward momentum of your character. Although these games have different art styles the gameplay is the same.  I think this would be a good type of game to make because the gameplay ...

MD2Final GDD

My Role  The team all met up on Wednesday and Thursday, we discussed the project going forward and peoples roles were updated. My job will still be to take care of all the graphic design work. I may also be contributing to the project by gathering further research. This week I designed and finished the logo that we are going to be using for the game. I played around with my ideas until deciding on the final design. The logo is based on a 1916 medal that was given to soldiers during that time period. I looked at pictures online to get an idea of what the medal would have looked like. I think its really suitable and clean looking and the font is large and easy to read. Next week I will be working designing the games main menu screen. I was given a drawing of the inside of a house from the art team, I can use to base my work off. I found this very useful because I was then able to go and research what the inside of a house would have looked like during the early 20th Centu...

Introduction Into My (Awesome) Life

The names Conor, and in this blog I want to tell you a little about myself. I'm 20 years old and have lived in Dublin my entire life. I am currently a second-year student studying "Creative Digital Media" in Blanchardstown. I really enjoy my course and plan on getting a job in this industry when I get my degree. I'd describe myself as a determined and hardworking person who loves a good laugh. After working hard in year one it's safe to say I learned a lot. The best class I took last year was photography. I loved that this module required us to go outside to take photos because it offered a nice break from working inside all day. Although I liked most of my modules last year, I found modules that involved film or photography to be the most enjoyable. My goal for this year is to continue working hard and improve on my work. Speaking of working hard, we all need a break every now and again. Over the break, I took the opportunity to travel to several countries, i...
